The city government of Victorias implemented a dry run of its new traffic rerouting this week, July 18 to 22.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez  recently met with the city’s transport groups to improve the traffic situation in the problematic areas during his first town hall meeting.

The meeting was also participated in  by Councilor Richard Julius Sablan, chair of Sangguniang Panlungsod committee transportation and traffic management, representatives from the Traffic Division and the Victorias Franchising Regulatory Board, a press release said Friday, July 22.

The city then gathered the feedback and suggestions of various sectors and has made necessary changes by adding new pick up points for the convenience of persons with disabilities (PWDs), pregnant women, and senior citizens.

Terminal locations have also been updated for an improved and more systematic management of traffic flow.

These actions would not only eliminate road chaos but will also make public spaces more accessible, the press release said.*
