Victorias has 3 new singing champions

Out of the 21 finalists in this year’s   “Tingog sang Kadalag-an” grand finals in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, three contestants emerged as the champions on Saturday, March 23. 

The Tingog sang Kadalag-an grand finals was held at the Sidlak Victorias Global City in celebration of the 26th Kadalag-an Festival, a press release from the city said Monday, March 25. 

Chrystelle Ann Vailoces bested  four other  contenders in the Battle of the Champions and received a P20,000 cash prize and trophy. 

Daisyrie Occeña, who sang her rendition of “What Kind of Fool Am I” by Regine Velasquez, was the  champion in the Open Category and won P 15,000 and a trophy.  

For the Junior Category, Jabez Dean Marte stood out among five other contenders and received the championship title along with P10,000 and a trophy.

Tawag ng Tanghalan champion and Victorias City’s pride, Noven Belleza was the guest performer during the grand finals night.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez said he hoped the performances of this year’s contestants would inspire more aspiring singing champions to bring their talents to bigger stages so that the world would   learn more about how rich Victorias is, not only in terms of biodiversity but also in world-class talents. 

Julie Anne Pumanes Reyes, a former member of The Philippine Madrigal Singers, Peggy Salas of ABS-CBN Star Magic, and recording artist Faustino Macaya were the  judges.*
