Victorias gov’t to launch Sidlak media productions

Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez announced the upcoming launching of the Sidlak Victorias Media Productions (SVMP), the city’s official arm for radio and TV production, during the flag-raising ceremony at the City Public Plaza on Monday, February 19.

Through the SVMP, Victorias City will soon have its own radio station to facilitate communication for all Victoriahanons, especially those who are residing in far-flung areas, Benitez said in a press release from the city’s Public Information Office .

Benitez said that 88.9 will be its official radio frequency.

The mayor turned over various equipment for the first phase of Sidlak Victorias Media Productions to City Information Officer Joy Famini.

These included a professional camera recorder, video head and tripod kit, light stand, heavy-duty desktop computers, and a 50” UHD Android Smart TV, among others.

The establishment of the city’s media production aims to ramp up communication efforts through digitalization and technology upgrades.

The mayor also led the turnover of an Emergency Vehicle for Gawahon Eco Park to Tourism Development and Promotion Officer Marian Rica Calseña.

The Victorias City Police Station led by Lt. Col. Roy Rodrigo Gutierrez also received ATV Vehicles to increase mobility for community policing, search and rescue operations, and environmental conservation in far-flung barangays located in mountainous areas.

Benitez and the city councilors also led the awarding of the SP resolutions.

Kaia Eliana Villaruz and Prince Johannes Infante were commended for being the champions during the Victorias City 2024 Division Athletic Meet Dance Sport competition in the Juvenile Latin Discipline, and Lj Rich Albaladejo and Jhyllian Faye Caro for Juvenile Modern Standard Discipline.

Estado National High School was also given commendation for being the champion in Dance Sport competition in different categories during the Division Meet 2024.

Former punong barangays of Victorias City were also awarded for their invaluable service and contribution to the development of the city during their three terms as punong barangays.

The same commendation was also given to the Crishar Taekwondo Team for winning medals during the 2nd Mayor Ray Ruiz Taekwondo Tournament.

Best Employees for the month of December citations were also awarded to Teachie Gayotin of the City Planning and Development Office and Mary Ann Salar from the City Health Office. *
