Victorias disinfects schools as preemptive step vs. HFMD

The Victorias City government initiated preemptive disinfection operations in several public elementary schools on Saturday, July 12, following reports of presumptive and unconfirmed cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) in the area.

Acting on the directive of Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), led by Rodolfo Retirado III, spearheaded the disinfection efforts.

Five elementary schools were targeted in this initial phase: Victorias Elementary School, Victorias North Elementary School, Cuaycong Elementary School, Salvacion Elementary School, and Daan Banwa Elementary School.

According to a press release from the Victorias City government, these disinfection activities will continue as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential spread of HFMD.

The Victorias City government also urged its residents to remain vigilant and to practice proper hygiene to help curb the potential transmission of the disease.*
