The owner of a stolen phone was able to use its global positioning system to locate it.

Allen Cesar Daraug, 31, a nurse at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, was attending to a patient at the holding area when his phone went missing from the nursing station.

Police said the victim tried to locate the phone, which was worth P60,000, through its GPS and found it at Brgy. Tampalon.

The police went to the area and found the suspect identified as 53-year-old Randy Reyes, who then surrendered the phone without hesitation.

He was then arrested by the Kabankalan police.*
