
Vice President Sara Duterte distributed RIICE (Relief for Indigent and Individual in Crisis and Emergencies ) boxes to 3,953 Negenses affected by Typhoon Tino in nine affected areas in Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The assistance was distributed in Canlaon City, Binalbagan, La Carlota, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Bago City and Bacolod City in barangays Montevista, Vista Alegre and Punta Taytay.
The RIICE boxes each contain 5 kilos of rice and six canned goods, Dr. Chris Sorongon, who heads the vice president’s satellite office in Bacolod City, said.
Water containers were also distributed.
The relief goods came from the Disaster Operations Center of the Office of the Vice President.
Duterte said the OVP Satellite Office in Bacolod City will assist in following up with water service providers and power companies residents’ concerns on power outages and lack of potable water in some areas of the province.
She said her office will also distribute assistance to the typhoon victims in Cebu.*
