Lasallian singers and performers turned into Disney movie characters as they performed musical segments on the last day of university week at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City on Friday, Nov. 10, with the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) emerging as the champion.

The musical performance of the CET group inspired by the movie “Encanto” awed hundreds of Lasallians who witnessed the last of the 5-day u-week activities.

The event entitled “Melodies of Fantasy” featured performances from five colleges – “Encanto” of CET, “Enchanted” from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), “High School Musical” from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), “Coco” from College of the Nursing (CON), and “Lion King” from College of Education (CED).

CED was 1st-runner up, and CON was 2nd runner-up.

The champions also received a special award for best in production, while CED was the best in vocals and CON was best in acting ensemble.

Apart from the Musical Production, the USLS Student Government also held a conference of the Sectoral Action Group for Empowered (SAGE) Women, LGBTQIA+ community, working students, and student-athletes to discuss and identify their sectors’ pressing issues and concerns.

They also mounted variety shows that involved faculty and students, an interfaith dialog, and gave out free food stamps for Lasallians in need of meal support, while club organizations and college councils mounted creative booths to entertain and educate u-week goers.

USLS Student Government president Ken Paolo Gilo said that this year u-week emphasized that the Lasallian community does not come together only in times of happiness but also in times of struggle and need.

“These advocacies and activities are products of the collaboration among all leaders from the USG Executive Branch, other government branches, commissions, college councils, clubs and organizations, class mayors, sponsors, and admin offices in our university,” he said.

The u-week was held at the USLS grounds from Nov. 6 to 10.*
