USLS granted CHED autonomous status anew

The University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City  has once again been granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), continuing a 22-year streak since it was first awarded in 2001.

This recognition, effective September 2024 to September 2027, was awarded through CHED Memorandum Order No. 07, Series of 2024, a press release from USLS said.

The CHED Autonomous Status allows higher education institutions the flexibility to introduce new programs and enhance existing ones without requiring constant CHED approval.

The sustained Autonomous Status follows a series of milestones achieved by the University, including reaccreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) for various programs this year, the  press release said.

Among the PAASCU re-accredited programs, Level IV includes the Arts and Sciences programs, Business and Accountancy programs, and the Elementary and Secondary Education programs; Level III includes the Nursing and BS Psychology programs; and Level II includes the Hospitality Management program.

With the renewed status, USLS further solidifies its position as a leader in quality education and academic innovation in Negros Occidental and beyond, the press release said.*
