Two men were stabbed dead in Manapla and La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, April 25.
In Manapla, a 33-year-old man identified as “Jun” was stabbed to death following an altercation in Crossing Paet, Brgy. I-A, late Saturday night.
Police said the victim and the suspect, “Wewin,” 28, were both under the influence of alcohol when they figured in a heated argument that escalated into a fistfight.
They were initially pacified and returned to their respective homes, but the suspect later went to the victim’s residence armed with a bladed weapon, leading to another confrontation.
The victim sustained fatal stab wounds and was declared dead at the Saint Anne Hospital in Cadiz City, while the suspect also sustained injuries.
Authorities are preparing appropriate charges against the suspect.
In Carlota City a 44-year-old man identified as “Lowe” was found dead with stab wounds beside an hacienda road in Brgy. Balabag earlier that morning.
Police said the victim was discovered lifeless by a barangay tanod and a resident beside the Hacienda Remedios road.
Initial investigation showed the victim had two stab wounds on the neck.
Scene of the Crime Operatives processed the area, while police launched an investigation to identify the suspect and determine the motive.*
