The Negros Island Region police arrested two of the region’s most-wanted individuals in separate operations in Negros Island this week.

In Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, authorities served a warrant of arrest on the region’s third most wanted person on Wednesday, November 19.

The suspect, identified as “Jun,” 38, was arrested in Sitio Cabcabon, Brgy. Banga, by the Bayawan police with the 5th Mobile Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion–NIR.

He was wanted for qualified rape of his minor stepdaughter, the police said.

The suspect was already detained for a previous rape-through-sexual-assault case when the warrant was served.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, the police also arrested the region’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person in a manhunt conducted in Hacienda Santa Catalina, Brgy. Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The suspect, known as “BoyBoy,” 36, a farm caretaker, was wanted for acts of lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610.

Police said he allegedly dragged a minor into a sugarcane field, committed lascivious acts, and threatened her.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region said the arrests demonstrate the intensified campaign against wanted individuals across the region. *
