Two electric cooperative linemen working on restoring power in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, were injured when the concrete electric post they were on fell on Wednesday afternoon, December 29.
The two are linemen of the Iloilo II Electric Cooperative Inc. who were assisting the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative in restoring power to Typhoon Odette-hit areas.
Gaspel Reyes, 25, of Lag-asan in Bago City, Negros Occidental, was injured in the right arm, and Remiel Calapillo, 27, of Pototan, Iloilo City, sustained injuries in the right wrist and left shoulder, a Hinigaran Fire Station report said.
The Hinigaran Fire Station and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office personnel responded to the fallen concrete electric post accident at Sitio Raming in Brgy. Pilar, Hinigaran.
The two linemen were then brought to a Hinigaran medical clinic.*
