Two were killed and five were injured when a truck hit a tricycle at Crossing Busay, Brgy Punta Mesa, Manapla, Negros, Occidental, the police reported Tuesday, March 14.
The Isuzu truck hit the rear of a motorcycle driven by Randy Fuentes that swerved and hit a barrier on the left side of the road at 2:10 p.m., Sunday, March 12.
Killed in the accident were tricycle passengers Maribel Bolton Ybañes and a 14-year-old of Tortosa, Manapla.
Those injured were treated as outpatients.
The other passengers on the tricycle were Jovi Ann Arcinal, 21, Alyssa Mae Abrahan, 22, Cristal
Joy Islao Gumban, 30, Samantha Grace, and Romar Ybañes, 9.
The truck was driven by Rogelio Paunillan Jr., 30, of Tabun-ac, Toboso.
Both parties have reached an initial settlement, the police said.*
