A child and a senior citizen drowned in separate incidents in Hinoba-an and Manapla towns in Negros Occidental on New Year’s Day, January 1.
A 5-year-old girl drowned in a pool at a resort in Purok 2, Brgy. Alim, Hinoba-an, at about 4 p.m., the police reported.
The child drowned in a kiddie pool and attempts to revive her failed.
Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man of Brgy. 1, Victorias City, was found dead along the seashore of a resort in Brgy. Tortosa, Manapla, at about 6:10 p.m. of January 1.
The victim was found dead by his live-in partner, the police said.
The police said that there was no foul play involved.*
