Two die, seven injured in vehicular accidents

Two died and seven were injured in a series of vehicular incidents in two cities and a town in Negros Occidental on Wednesday, May 31, the police reported.

In Hinigaran, a Ceres bus and SUV accidentally collided along the national highway in Brgy. Pilar at about 8 in the evening.

The driver of SUV identified as Jennybert Eliver, 31, of Brgy. Santo Rosario in Binalbagan town was declared dead while three passengers of the Ceres bus were injured.

Both vehicles were traversing in opposite directions when the SUV swerved encroaching on the left lane leading to the collision, the police said.

The SUV fell in a ditch because of the impact, it added.

The driver of the Ceres bus was under the custody of the Hinigaran police.

Meanwhile, in San Carlos City, a back-rider of a motorcycle died after the vehicle accidentally hit a truck along Sitio Katiclan in Brgy. Rizal.

The victim identified as Jesse Auditor, 26, was riding on a motorcycle driven by his brother, Alex, 26. Both are from Brgy. Nataban in San Carlos City.

The motorcycle accidentally hit the left side of the canter ref van, driven by Armando Juanites, the police reported.

It added that when their vehicle hit the truck, the Jesse Auditor fell down and accidentally hit the rear left wheel of the truck.

PLt. Col. Jesus Mesahon, San Carlos police chief, told DIGICAST NEGROS that no charges were filed against the younger brother, Alex, after a settlement was reached.

In Talisay City, a driver and two of his passengers were injured after their vehicle accidentally bumped a canter truck along the access road in Brgy. Efegenio Lizares.

Police records showed that the vehicle driven by Richard Go, 87, accidentally bumped a canter truck parked on the side of the road.

Go, and two of his passengers, including a minor, were injured and were brought to the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City for medical attention, the police reported.*
