The brother-in-law of two siblings who were found dead in Brgy. Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, surrendered to the police saying that he killed them in his self-defense, Friday afternoon, Nov. 17.
The police tagged Jeffrey Landeza in the killing Jason and Lito Moreno whose bodies were found dead in Brgy. Cabacungan.
Landeza is the husband of Cecilia, who is the oldest sibling of Jason and Lito who are from Brgy. Upper Linothangan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.
The siblings were planning to kill their uncle whom they suspected to have killed their father when they were young, Landeza alleged.
The brothers allegedly peppered the house of their uncle with bullets where Landeza was also staying.
After two days, the brothers allegedly threatened to kill Landeza because he knew what they did to their uncle’s house.
When Jason and Lito attempted to stab and shoot him, Landeza immediately hacked and stabbed them causing their deaths, a police report said.
The police said that the relatives of the victims have yet to decide if they will file a case against Landeza.*
