Tribu Bucad Caduhaan Dinagsa fest champion

Tribu Bucad Caduhaan was the grand champion in the Dinagyang Festival street dance competition in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, January 28.

It won a P200,000 prize as champion and P50,000 more for bagging the Best in Sound/Rhythm and Best in Performance awards.

The other winners were: Tribu Matinambi Tres – 1st runner up that won P150,000, Tribu Sicablun Quatro –second runner up (P100,000) and Tribu Maraynon – 3rd Runner-up (P75,000).

Tribu Matinambi Tres also won P75,000 more for bagging the Most Disciplined, Best in Costume and Best in Choreography awards.

Consolation prizes of P50,000 each were given to Tribu Majeca, Tribu Tibanda, Tribu Hitalon and Tribu Sewanara.

Special Awards of P10,000 each were given to: Best Local Choreographer – Tribu Matinambi Tres (Charliemen Besa), Best 50th Dinagsa Festival Theme – Tribu Matinambi Tres, Best in Dance Ritual – Tribu Maraynon, and Best Local Costume Designer – Tribu Matinambi Tres (Christopher John Puerta).

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old engineering student was crowned Golden Dinagsa Queen of Cadiz City at the Cadiz Arena Friday night, January 26.

Ayah Jane Sucajel from Barangay Tinampaan bested nine other hopefuls.

A first year college student taking up Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Technology at the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUP-V) in Talisay City, Sucajel was also named Best in Festival Attire, Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic.

Lyra Marie Rabanal of Tinampaa, and Avegale Santos of Barangay Zone 3 were first and second runners-up, respectively.*
