A trailer truck fell off a cliff leaving one dead while the driver survived at the Sagay-Cadiz access road in Hacienda Leonora, Brgy. Fabrica, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, Monday, Oct. 21.
Sagay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Wally Afuang told DIGICAST NEGROS that the retrieval of the helper trapped in the trailer head of the truck took more than five hours.
He said that the trailer truck carrying a container van was supposed to go to Bacolod City.
When the vehicle attempted to pass through the high part of the road, the driver allegedly lost control resulting to its falling off the cliff.
Afuang said that the driver was able to get off the vehicle while his helper was trapped when the trailer truck fell 20 feet down.
The DRRMO did not name the victim and driver as they turned the case over to the police.
Afuang said that the driver had previous records involving vehicular accidents and is now under police custody.*
