Tokhang surrenderee caught with shabu meted 2 life terms

A “Tokhang” surrenderee who was caught with more than 621 grams of shabu in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, has been sentenced to life imprisonment on two counts and ordered to pay a fine of P2.5 million.

Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 Executive Judge, Raymond Joseph Javier, sentenced Sunny Delara Capa, alias Blut, to life imprisonment and to pay a fine of P500,000 on Friday, August 12, for the sale of .151 gram of shabu to a policeman in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Capa was also sentenced to life imprisonment and to pay a fine of P2 million for possession of 621.29 grams of shabu.

His first cousin Ely Lorence Demadara Sazon was also found guilty of possession of 5.92 grams of shabu and sentenced to 20 years and one day imprisonment and to pay a fine of P400,000.

Capa sold .151 gram of shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,000 at Bangga Subay, Purok Mahimulaton in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, on Dec. 21 ,2019.

On his arrest 621.29 grams of shabu were seized from him, the court was told.

The police conducted a buy bust operation after receiving information that Capa was selling shabu in barangays Banago and Mandalagan.

Sazon, who was with Capa, was also arrested after shabu was also recovered from him, the court was told.

The judge ordered the transfer of Capa and Sazon to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, and the turnover of the seized drugs to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office for destruction.
