Three laborers on a motorcycle died when their vehicle hit an oncoming truck at Crossing Cabanyohan, Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, 9:40 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
The fatalities were the motorcycle driver Rico Ian Manlangit Samanero, 26, and his backriders Jomel Intig Hamaybay, 21, and Robin Gasataya Causapin, 19, of Sitio Igang, Brgy Tampalon, a police report said on Sunday.
They were observed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor, the report added.
Investigation revealed that the motorcycle driver was travelling fast when he accidentally hit an oncoming truck driven by Gerardo Makilan III, 40, a resident of Brgy. Locotan, Kabankalan.
The motorcycle driver and his possengers fell to the pavement and died.
Makilan who voluntarily surrendered is in police custody.*
