About 7,000 to 8,000 athletes are expected to join the first Negros Island Region Athletics Association Meet on March 1 to 6, Almyr Caezar Dequiña, Department of Education Negros Island Region spokesman, said on Monday, Feb. 2.
The meet to be hosted by the Bacolod City DepEd and government will be participated in by athletes from Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
Twelve competing delegations will join the meet that will have 27 sporting events.*
