Thieves steal P300K in jewelry

Authorities are investigating the robbery of a jewelry shop in Brgy. Talungon, Bais City, Negros Oriental, where suspects carted away jewelry worth an estimated P300,000 early Sunday morning, Oct. 5. 

The suspects gained entry through the back of the pawnshop, where they created a hole using an unknown tool, the police said.

The thieves then allegedly took off with jewelry estimated to be worth P300,000, although the total value of the missing items is still subject to official audit by the management.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team was called in to process the crime scene and collect physical evidence, while intelligence personnel of Bais City Police are now conducting follow-up operations to identify and track down the suspects.

The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) assured that the investigation is ongoing and that the police are exerting all efforts to resolve the case swiftly.
