Teleperformance through its corporate social responsibility arm, Citizen of the World (COTW), has contributed 1,500 volunteer hours during the Brigada Eskwela organized by the Department of Education that mobilizes various sectors of society to help with and volunteer for the preparation of public school facilities for the new school year.
Dubbed “TP Dream Builder,” the initiative drew 242 TP volunteers who have shown remarkable dedication by rolling up their sleeves to volunteer and refurbish school facilities nationwide. These efforts included cleaning up school grounds, re-painting classroom walls, and repairing classroom furniture.
In Bacolod City, Teleperformance adopted Sum-ag Elementary School.
“We are proud to see a continued increase in volunteer hours for this year’s Brigada Eskwela on location activities alone, TP’s Chief People Officer and Citizen of the World (COTW) Chairperson Jeffrey Johnson, shared. That does not include all the time spent on the preparations and coordination for the actual school activities, he added.
This year, TP’s select adopted schools also included Camaman-an Elementary School in Cagayan de Oro, Bunawan Aplaya Elementary School in Davao, Jose Divinagracia Sr. Elementary School in General Santos City, Iba Elementary School in Cebu, Gibraltar Elementary School in Baguio, Sto. Domingo Integrated School in Pampanga, Molino Elementary School in Cavite, and Bambang Elementary School in Pasig.
Despite the challenges posed by Super Typhoon Carina, TP and DepEd remained steadfast in their commitment to ensuring that schools are ready to welcome students for the new school year.*PR
