A 19-year-old woman was arrested after police seized an estimated P1.56 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Purok Narra-Baybay, Brgy. 8, Bacolod City, Sunday, Dec. 7.
Police identified the suspect only as alias “Gel,” a high-value individual residing in Brgy. 8.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, launched the operation after receiving reports from an informant that the suspect had been selling illegal drugs in several areas in the city, the police said.
Recovered from the operation were around 230 grams of suspected shabu, including one sachet sold to a poseur-buyer, six sachets found in her possession, and two knot-tied plastic packets.
Police also seized the marked money and other non-drug items.
The seized drugs were turned over to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
The suspect is now detained at Police Station 2 and will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
