An 18-year-old motorcycle driver died while two others were injured in a crash at the national highway in Sitio Punod, Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, shortly after midnight on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The police identified the fatality as Cedrick Makandog, a student and resident of Brgy. 6, San Carlos City.
Also injured were backriders Nick John Ygot, 19, of Brgy. Rizal, and Adrian Trosa, 18, of Brgy. 6.
The San Carlos City police said the three were riding a Rusi motorcycle and traveling downhill toward the city proper when the driver lost control and overshot into a roadside gutter.
Police said the occupants were thrown to the ground, causing the driver to sustain severe head injuries.
The victims were rushed by San Carlos City Disaster Risk Reduction Managemenent Office responders to the San Carlos City Hospital, where the driver was declared dead.*
