Team Asenso kick-off party all set, stay calm, let best team win: Albee

The Team Asenso kick-off party to mark the start of the local campaign period will be held at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26.

There will be no national candidates, it will be a purely local campaign event, Team Asenso mayoral bet Alfredo “Albee” Benitez said Thursday, March 24.

“We are shying away from national candidates, the focus will be purely local,” he said.

Dubbed “Ti-on sg Pagbag-o (Time for change)”, the event will also feature Bamboo, Silent Sanctuary and a surprise celebrity guest, Team Asenso announced.

Benitez said he hopes political animosities among some members of rival parties do not escalate.

“Let’s try to be peaceful, this is just an election and after that let us all be friends and work together,” he said.

“Let’s not take it personally, let’s just be good candidates …just present your platform and programs and let the best team win,” Benitez said.

He stressed the need to stay calm because fights will not make one win. “Let’s just present ourselves and our programs and let the public decide,” Benitez said.

Running for congressman under Benitez team is incumbent Rep. Greg Gasataya.

Team Asenso vice mayoral bet is former Bacolod councilor Caesar Distrito, and their councilor candidates are incumbents Al Victor Espino, Bart Orola and Simple Distrito, former vice mayor Thaddy Sayson, former councilors Homer Bais, Celia Flor, Kalaw Puentevella, and Sonia Verdeflor, former three-term Negros Occidental board member Patrick Lacson, businessman Vladimir Gonzales, SK chairman Jason Villarosa and Pao Sy, daughter of the late councilor Elmer Sy.*
