The Team Asenso Bacolod winners on Friday called for reconciliation and cooperation following the May 12 elections.
“We invite every Bacolodnon – regardless of political affiliation – to join us in our shared mission to uplift our communities and bring lasting development to our city,” a Team Asenso joint statement said.
”The challenges ahead are real, but with unity, respect, and collective effort, there is nothing we cannot overcome. Let us move forward with one purpose: to create a Bacolod that provides hope, opportunity, and a better life for all”, the statement said.
The joint statement was issued by Representative-Elect Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, Mayor-Elect Greg Gasataya, Vice Mayor-Elect Kalaw Puentevella, and the winning Team Asenso Bacolod councilors Caesar Distrito, Israel Salanga, Em Ang, Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Jason Villarosa, Celia Flor, Dindo Ramos, Bobby Rojas, Pao Sy, Homer Bais and Al Victor Espino.
They said they are deeply honored and grateful for the trust given to them by the people of Bacolod.
“With your overwhelming support, we are ready to continue the work of building a better, more progressive Bacolod — one that is inclusive, compassionate, and a forward-looking Super City,” they said.
Now that the elections have concluded, Team Asenso Bacolod winners said they believe it is time “to set aside political divisions and focus on the work that truly matters: serving the people. Our call today is clear—let us unite as one Bacolod”.
They said they recognize and respect the service of former mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and Councilor Renecito Novero, whose contributions have been part of Bacolod’s story.
“In democracy, leadership changes, but love for our city must always remain constant,” they said.*
