The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has created a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) to focus on solving the case of a 17-year-old trainee who was found dead in a grassy section of the reclamation area in Brgy. 12, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 22.
Capt. Francis Depasucat , Police Station 1 commander, told DIGICAST NEGROS on Thursday that an autopsy was conducted and that the SITG was formed to concentrate on the investigation and expedite justice for the victim.
The victim, identified only as “Inday”, was a trainee at a construction company and a resident of Bacolod City.
Inday was discovered hogtied and half-naked, with her underwear missing, the police said.
She was identified by her co-workers after investigators traced them through the blue company shirt she was wearing when she was found.
Depasucat said that the results of the autopsy are expected within the week, and that investigators are now backtracking the victim’s last known whereabouts and reviewing CCTV footage in the area to determine how the crime unfolded.
Authorities have also started interviewing the victim’s family and co-workers to gather leads and identify persons of interest.
Depasucat welcomed the P100,000 reward offered by Mayor Greg Gasataya for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects, saying it could help speed up the resolution of the case.
The police are appealing to witnesses to come forward and cooperate with investigators.*
