Barangay Tangub was the champion in the 1st Mayor Albee Barangay Fire Olympics at the Bacolod City Government Center football field on Friday, March 24.
Brgy. Taculing was the second place winner, Pahanocoy – 3rd, Estefania – 4th and Singcang-Airport – 5th, the Bacolod Public Information Office announced.
The theme of the olympics was “Sa Pag-Iwas Sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa (In fire prevention, you are not alone)”.
Councilor Psyche Marie Sy said the event was an avenue for camaraderie and served as a skill enhancement training for fire prevention.
The champion received P8,000, 2nd placer – P6,000, 3rd placer- P4,000 and consolation prizes of P2,000 each were given to the other participants.*
