Talisay collects P58M in taxes

The Talisay City government collected P58 million in business taxes in 2020.

In a report issued today, February 15, the collected revenues from business registration and renewals last year improved by 4.4 percent compared to 2019 with P55 million.

Investments generated from the new capital reached P170 million from P122 million, with gross sales from renewals reaching P10.3 billion in 2020 from P9.3 billion in 2019.

The city government also said that 28 of the 93 establishments reportedly closed in the locality during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The number of business renewals dropped slightly from 1,539 in 2019 to 1,536 in 2020, while revenues generated from regulatory fees dropped by 4 percent at P1.61 million in 2020 from P1.7 million in 2019.

The city government also noted that the number of new business registrations in 2020 dropped by 28 percent at 207 from 289 in 2019.*
