Two persons hacked each other to death in Sitio Kuli-Kuli, Brgy. Mabunao, Bais City, Negros Oriental, Thursday afternoon, Aug. 21, a police report said.
The police identified the victim as Silvino Cabanag Romeo, 65, a farmer, and the suspect as Juan Ortega Cabanag, 47, of Brgy. Mabunao.
Investigation revealed that the police received a call from a concerned citizen about the hacking at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday.
Responding officers said Romeo was rushed to the r Bais District Hospital but was later declared dead.
Cabanag, meanwhile, was found lifeless at the crime scene.
Investigators said the incident stemmed from a personal grudge, though the exact circumstances of the clash was still being established.
The Bais City police are continuing to investigate the incident.*
