The suspect in the killing of a septuagenarian and his grandchild in their home at Abada Escay in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, surrendered to the police Wednesday, September 22.
This came a day after Kent Agsam, 26, allegedly killed 73-year-old Aurelio Rull, a former barangay tanod, and his 9-year-old grandchild, who later succumbed to stab wounds at the hospital.
In an interview with Radyo Bandera Bacolod, the suspect said he was under the influence of illegal drugs when the incident happened, adding that he went to the victim’s house to look for his tooter.
According to the radio report, the victim didn’t answer the door, so the suspect went inside the house through the window.
He even had a pot session inside the victim’s house, he said in the radio interview. He added that he could not recall why he killed the old man, whom he said was kind to him.
The suspect, who is now in the custody of Police Station 7, will face double murder charges.
Meanwhile, contact tracing is underway after the 9-year-old boy, who was rushed to a hospital after the stabbing incident, was found to be positive for COVID-19, Radyo Bandera reported.*
