The Department of Health’s Center for Health Development in Western Visayas has directed a survey on the readiness COVID-19 facilities in Negros Occidental, Dr. Girlie Pinongan, Provincial Health Officer, said Wednesday, May 29.
Pinongan said there a few cases of COVID-19 in Negros Occidental and that they are mild ones.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Tuesday, reminded the public to take safety precautions as the COVID-19 threat still exist.
Benitez cited the recent increase of COVID-19 cases in some countries because of the emergence of “FLiRT” variants, a statement from his spokesman Caesar Distrito said.
“FLiRT” variants have been detected in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Singapore.
Close variant monitoring is up in Bacolod and the entire country, Distrito said.*
