The public is being urged to support the participants of the ongoing 18th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival at the South Capitol Road in Bacolod City by buying their produce.
The farmers suffered from crop damage and losses during Typhoon “Tino” and it would help if they sell out all their produce at the festival, which runs until Sunday, November 23, Dina Genzola, OIC Provincial Agriculturist of Negros Occidental, said on Friday.
Sales of the farmers on Wednesday and Thursday hit P746,875, she said.
Huge crowds have also been seen at the Terra Madre Asia and Pacific food festival where delicacies from around the country are on sale at booths at the North Capitol road.
“It has been so overwhelming that people just keep coming. We just wish to continue inviting everyone to visit the tents in the lagoon because there are so many interesting things to see, taste, listen to and learn,” Reena Gamboa, TMAP executive director, said.*
