A street cleaner was killed after she was hit by a truck at Prk. Jalandon in Brgy. 6, Bacolod City, Thursday, July 21.
Killed was 70-year-old Rosalinda Filiu, a street cleaner of the barangay.
Initial investigation showed that she walking when she was bumped by the trailer truck driven by Leo Barona, 32, of Brgy. Idlaw-an, Murcia.
The suspect reportedly failed to notice the victim, who was on the driver’s blind spot.
The victim was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center but she didn’t make it.
The suspect who surrendered to the authorities was released from custody Friday, July 22, following a settlement with the woman’s family.*
