Stolen 10-wheeler truck recovered, suspect arrested

Police arrested a 32-year-old man and recovered a stolen 10-wheeler truck following a hot pursuit operation in Murcia and Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

The victim, a 39-year-old driver and owner of an Isuzu 10-wheeler truck from Brgy. Talotog, Murcia, reported to the Murcia Municipal Police Station that his vehicle was stolen at around 3 p.m. on Monday at the Lopez Transloading in Purok Stop, Brgy. Blumentritt.

Authorities immediately coordinated with the Kabankalan City police and launched follow-up investigation and hot pursuit operations.

The operation involved personnel from Murcia and Kabankalan police stations, the 3rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion–Negros Island Region, the Philippine Highway Patrol Team South, and the 15th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Cris,” 32, single, jobless, and a resident of Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City.

The suspect was arrested and the truck was recovered in Purok Sunshine, Barangay Salong, Kabankalan City.

The suspect is now detained at the Murcia police station.*
