A total of 133 Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) workers of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) are now covered as self-employed members of the Social Security System (SSS) under the KaSSSangga Collect Program (KCP).
SSS Senior Vice President for Visayas Operations Group Alberto Montalbo said that CLMMRH will implement an automatic salary deduction scheme for these workers’ SSS and EC contributions to ensure convenient and consistent remittance of contributions, a press release from SSS said.
“Through this initiative, JO and COS workers will be registered as SSS self-employed members, giving them access to a wide range of social security benefits—including sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral benefits, as well as Employees’ Compensation (EC) for work-connected contingencies,” Montalbo said.
Social Security Commissioner Eva Arcos expressed her gratitude to CLMMRH Medical Center Chief II Dr. Joan E. Cerrado in implementing the KCP in their health facility.
“Her support has been instrumental in bringing social protection to more workers in government service. We hope that other government agencies will follow this example to ensure that all Filipino workers, regardless of employment status, can access the benefits they rightfully deserve,” Arcos said.
The partnership between SSS and CLMMRH was formalized through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing, marking another milestone in SSS’ continuing efforts to provide inclusive social protection for non-regular workers in the public sector, the press release said.*
