The Sangguniang Panlalawigan unanimously approved the P6,457,539,794 Negros Occidental budget for 2025 during its regular session on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
“The SP approved the budget as promised, we are all set for next year”, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson thanked Ferrer and the entire SP for approving the budget.
“It is crucial to have the annual budget in place at the start of the year to ensure the smooth implementation of our programs and services,” he said.
“The 2025 Annual Expenditure Program was carefully crafted to address the pressing needs of our province. It reflects our commitment to driving economic growth, enhancing public services, and prioritizing the welfare of every Negrense. With this budget, we aim to strengthen our initiatives, empower communities, and sustain our gains toward progress and development,” Lacson said.
The 2025 budget is P1,022,895,094 or 18.82 percent higher than the P5,434,644,700 budget for 2024.
The 2025 approved budget sets P6,203,085,130 for the General Fund and P254,454,664 for the Economic Enterprise Development Department, a special account under the General Fund, Ferrer said.
The budget was approved on motion of Board Member Rommel Debulgado, SP Committee on Finance chair.
Debulgado said his committee conducted budget hearings on the allocations for the different offices and departments of the provincial government for two weeks.*
