The Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved on Tuesday, Jan. 6, the distribution of P50 million from the Office of President to eight local government units in Negros Occidental affected by Typhoon “Tino”, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Wednesday.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson had sought the SP approval for the distribution of the funds following the completion of the signing of Deed of Donation from the Office of the President to the Province of Negros Occidental.
Based on the recommendation of Lacson, La Carlota City, La Castellana and Moises Padilla will receive P10 million each from the fund, Diaz said.
Bago City, Binalbagan, and Hinigaran will receive P5 million each while Isabela and Pontevedra will receive P2.5 million each, he added.
The LGUs will identify the beneficiaries of the financial assistance.*
