The Sipalay City government brought holiday cheer to its employees, frontliners, and their families by giving away buckets of fried chicken and hamburgers during the recent “PasaJoy, PasSipalay” activity at the government center.
A total of 1,047 buckets of Jollibee’s Chicken Joy and Yumburgers were distributed.
“Through this simple activity, we would like to recognize the efforts of all civil servants in implementing the programs of the city government amid the pandemic,” Mayor Maria Gina Lizares said.
With the restrictions in celebrating activities to avoid mass gatherings, the city government had to rethink and re-strategize its Gender and Development activities set for employees and their families this year, the mayor said.
“In the spirit of Christmas, we encourage everyone to pass the joy of eating with their families,” she added.
The title of the activity was a double portmanteau of “PasaJoy” which comes from passing joy among the employees and their families, and “PasSipalay” from “Paskwa sa Sipalay.”
The distribution was also in coordination with the Sipalay City BLT Central Kitchen at the Agripino Alvarez Elementary School.*
