The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region clarified that a reported “gas and go” incident in Sipalay City is not a case of fuel evasion.
LTO-NIR issued the clarification on Wednesday, April 29, after a prompt investigation conducted by its Intelligence and Investigation Unit.
Authorities said one of the owners of the four vehicles involved coordinated with LTO-NIR and confirmed that the incident resulted from a misunderstanding and not an intentional failure to pay.
Further verification showed that the situation does not meet the definition of a “gas and go” case.
Acting Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu advised the public to verify information before sharing online to prevent the spread of misinformation and unnecessary alarm.*
