
Five pairs representing various clustered barangays are competing to be the next “Sinigay sa Sagay Hara kag Hari”, one of the highlights of the upcoming “Saot Para Sa Dunang Manggad” Street and Arena Competition of the Sinigayan Festival in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, on March 19.
The Saot Para sa Dunang Manggad is the official street dance and arena competition of Sagay City’s Sinigayan Festival, which is slated on March 15 to 19, a press release from Sagay City said Friday, March 14.
“Dubbed as the “Festival of Many Causes”, Sinigay sa Sagay celebrates the efforts of Sagaynons and the broader community to sustain and support environmental causes for future generations”, it said.
The contingents of Sinigay sa Sagay Hari and Hara will dance alongside their group, carrying advocacies centered on the sea, the environment, and sustainability.
Angel Saytas and Earl Justin Bagonoc are representing Cluster 1 composed of Barangays Poblacion 2, Andres Bonifacio, Molocaboc, and Puey, while Ashley Fate Sayon and Reynaldo Delcoro are representing Cluster 2 composed of barangays Old Sagay, Malubon, General Luna, Rizal, and Himogaan Baybay.
Cluster 3 composed of barangays Bato, Sewahon, Taba-ao, Plaridel, and Lopez Jaena are represented by Aubrey Fernandez and James Allen Reyes, and Cluster 4 composed of Poblacion 1, Bulanon, Vito, Rafaela Barrera, and Maquiling are represented by Charmeil Dianne Geronimo and Mark Lynuel Cano.
Cluster 5 composed of Tadlong, Colonia Divina, Baviera, Campo Himogaan, and Paraiso will be represented by Ericka Flores and Joseph Dwayne Bancolinos.
The Saot Para sa Dunang Manggad will be one of the highlights of the Sinigayan Festival that will start 1 p.m. on March 19.
The street dance route is from the Sagay National High School to the “Ratsada sa Kalsada” area and the final presentation will be at the Sagay City Public Plaza.*
