
Dumaguete City’s famous delicacy Silvanas is among the 50 best cookies in the world, according to the food website TasteAtlas.
Silvanas ranked 25th among the 50 best cookies in the world, which resulted from the ratings of the TasteAtlast audience all over the world, a June 16 post on its website said.
TasteAtlas described Silvanas as frozen cookie sandwiches made with two cashew-meringue wafers that are held together with a thick layer of buttercream and are generously coated in cashew crumbs.
The rankings of TasteAtlas resulted from the 8,076 recorded ratings globally.
The ranking include the Petticoat Tails of Scotland, Makroud El Louise of Algeria, Alfajores of Argentina, Stroopwafel of Netherlands, Melomakarona of Greece, Marranitos of Mexico, Chocolate Chip Cookie of United States, among others.
TasteAtlast also said that their ranking aims to promote excellent local foods, instill pride in traditional dishes, and arouse curiosity about those haven’t tried dishes.*
