The Kansilay Festival of Silay City was declared the champion of the 30th Panaad sa Negros Festival Best of Festival Dances Competition (city category) at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City Monday evening, April 13.
Kansilay Festival is a celebration in Silay City held from June 1 to 12.
The festival is highlighted by street-dance drama, arena performances, and storytelling centered on the Legend of Princess Kansilay.
Other winners in the city category were the Pinta Flores Festival of San Carlos City as first runner-up, Minulu-an Festival of Talisay City – second runner-up, Sinulog Festival of Kabankalan City – third runner-up, and the Dinagsa Festival of Cadiz City – fourth runner-up.
The Best of Festival Dances Competition for the municipal category will be held at the Panaad Stadium starting 5 p.m. on Tuesday.*
