A senior citizen drowned while attending a graduation party at a beach in Brgy. 4, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, June 29.
The victim was identified as Susano Cachero, 62, a vendor and resident of Brgy. Oringao, Kabankalan City.
The victim had joined a drinking session at the graduation party, the police said.
The victim then went swimming and attempted to reach a boat that was about 10 meters away from the shore.
He sank and when he was rescued he was unconscious.
He was declared dead at the Sipalay City Health Office, the police said.*
