An estimated P360,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized by the police in a series of buy-bust operations in five local government units of Negros Occidental on Thursday, June 8.
Five suspects, including a security guard, were arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in San Carlos and Silay cities, and in the municipalities of La Castellana, Binalbagan and Ilog, the police reported Friday.
Gerald Ocido, 26, a security guard, was arrested and P68,000 worth of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized in Brgy. Lalagsan, La Castellana town, the police reported.
The police also arrested Edison Luague, 20, and seized 34.85 grams of suspected shabu valued at P236,980 in a buy-bust operation at Centermall in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City.
Rhendy Soriba, 34, a carpenter from Brgy. Mambulac in Silay City was arrested in a buy-bust operation and the police confiscated seven grams or P47,600 worth of suspected shabu.
Meanwhile, Leo Carlo Arevalo, 30, of Brgy. Sto. Rosario in Binalbagan town was arrested and a gram of suspected shabu worth P6,800 was seized from him, the police reported.
Rene Niego, 43, was also arrested and seized was 0.5 gram of suspected shabu estimated to cost P3,400 at Brgy. Tabu, Ilog, the police said.*
