The San Carlos City government, through its City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office with technical assistance from the Office of Civil Defense VI, recently held a two-day Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training course at Seda Hotel in Bacolod City.

Thirty-eight San Carlos City heads of offices and representatives participated in the training, Joe Recalex Alingasa Jr., San Carlos CDRRM officer, said Friday, September 30.

The EOC Training is aligned with the conceptual framework of the Incident Command System (ICS) that is designed to enhance the disaster response capability of every organization, he said.

San Carlos City has a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center that serves as the nerve hub of information and data for operational and cluster support during disasters triggered by natural or human-induced factors and for pre-planned events, Alingasa said.

Mayor Rene Gustilo thanked the Office of Civil Defense VI, through its regional director, Jose Roberto R. Nuñez, for providing the technical training.*
