Four regular employees of the San Carlos City government in Negros Occidental have tested positive for the use of illegal drugs, Mayor Renato Gustilo said Monday, Dec. 18.
They were tested last week and the results were released Monday.
There were 16 job order workers in San Carlos City who also tested positive in previous tests conducted this year.
Permanent employees found positive for the use of illegal drugs will be subjected to the Civil Service Commission requirement for their results to be forwarded to an accredited government doctor who will evaluate them, Gustilo said.
The government doctor will also recommend action to be taken against the employees found positive for the use of drugs, Gustilo said.
The urine sample of the permanent employees found positive will be subjected to confirmatory tests, Gustilo said.
Job order workers found positive for drugs will face immediate dismissal from the service, he said.
The San Carlos City government’s surprise random drug tests for its employees is a continuing process to ensure a drug-free workplace, Gustilo said.*
