Mayor Gerry M. Rojas vowed to further enhance the infrastructure development in Murcia, Negros Occidental, to boost the town’s growth.

“We will continue working tirelessly towards ensuring that all Murciahanons receive their share of the benefits from these economic activities being hosted by our town, and that all Murciahanons can feel that they are part of the growth of our town,” Rojas said in his speech during his oathtaking rites on Saturday, June 26.

With all the fast-paced infrastructure developments and the continuing upsurge in economic activities in Murcia, Rojas said there is an urgent need to expand the parameters of government services to keep pace with the demands of the times.

“In my last term as your mayor, I envision the construction of a new Murcia municipal building along the new bypass road”, he said, which will spread the economic development to another upcoming growth area in Murcia along barangays Salvacion, Cansilayan and Blumentritt.

The new Murcia municipal building will not only decongest traffic in the town proper and expand the town’s growth center, it will also set the framework for future town administrations to more easily accommodate more investments that will bring more jobs to Murciahanons, Rojas said.

Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura and Sangguniang Bayan Members Hernan Alintana, JR Gravino, Kedy Yu, Alfredo Villarosa, Joey Gomez, Belen Magbanua, Francoise Ginson and Philip Belleza took their oaths of office together with Rojas before Brgy Zone III Punong Barangay Elda B. de Guzman.

Rep. Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) was the guest of honor, while 303rd IB Commander Brig. Gen. Ted B. Dumosmog, PNP Provincial Director Col. Rainerio M. de Chavez also attended the event.*
