
The Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental–Bacolod City Chapter activated its WASH Services to ensure continuous access to safe and potable drinking water in response to the E. coli contamination of the main water source in Brgy. Inolingan, Moises Padilla.
Diarrhea hit 173 residents in Barangay Inolingan as its water source was found positive for E. coli, Mayor Ella Garcia Yulo said on Thursday, Dec. 11.
Medicines and drinking water have been provided to residents living in the barangay, she said.
The Red Cross WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) Team conducted water distribution operations in Inolingan from Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12 to 13.

Prior to and during operations, all water tankers, pillow bladders, hoses, and tap stands underwent chlorine shock treatment to ensure water safety, with quality results showing acceptable turbidity, chlorine residual, and no taste or odor, it said.*
