A manager and waiter of a restobar in Bacolod City have filed grave threats and alarm and scandal cases against the intelligence officer of the National Bureau of Investigation-Bacolod who allegedly brandished her firearm in the establishment last month.

The cases were filed against intelligence officer Jana Marie Navales before the City Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday, Dec. 6, the management of the resto bar said in a statement.

“Miss Navales holds a position of responsibility in maintaining the principles of justice. However, we maintain that nobody is above the law, and we trust that the legal process will ensure fair resolution to this matter”, the statement said.

The statement added that they are committed to the safety of their staff and they thank the community for supporting them and respecting the privacy of those who were involved.

The waiter who was allegedly threatened by the intelligence officer also said in a statement that the incident had a great impact on his life as it caused anxiety and fear. He cannot concentrate on work and has had sleepless nights, the waiter added.

The waiter thanked the resto bar management for supporting him and the Bacolod City Police Station 2 for escorting them in filing the case.

Navales was caught on CCTV camera brandishing a gun while looking for her jacket and phone at the restobar on Nov. 24.*
